Light, Pattern & the Hidden Structures of Nature

Through painting, mixed media, and sculpture, I explore the relationships between light, energy, and the patterns that shape our perception of the world. My work invites viewers to look beyond the familiar and discover new ways of seeing.

TYPOGRAPHIES OF LIGHT

Hidden Worlds and Energetic Frequencies

I see the physical world as a manifestation of energy, light, and vibration. I find endless inspiration in exploring how these forces shape what we see and how we experience the world.

My work often begins with overlooked details: reflections from a streetlight, cracks in asphalt, patterns in the landscape, or the delicate structure of a spiderweb. These everyday encounters can reveal unexpected worlds—doorways of perception, as Aldous Huxley described them, hiding in plain sight. I transform these discoveries into geometric forms, intricate lines, and fields of color in both two- and three-dimensional work. Combining digital imagery with oil, acrylic, and pastel, I follow intuition to distill essential patterns, finding order in apparent chaos and revealing structures that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Through these topographies of light, I invite viewers to look beyond the familiar and imagine the energetic patterns underlying the physical world. My aim is to celebrate discovery and inspire wonder through the shifting relationships of space, light, and form.

VISUAL POEMS
Like written poetry, my multi-panel works bring together seemingly unrelated elements to create unexpected connections. By combining varied patterns, textures, and colors, I create visual compositions that invite new associations, emotions, and ways of seeing.

DISCONNECTING THE DOTS
Rearranging Patterns of Perception

The more I learn about the complexity and fragility of our planet, the more I wonder about the mysteries of the world around us. Discoveries in the quantum and cosmic realms challenge familiar ideas about matter, space, and the nature of reality. They encourage us to reconsider what we think we know.

In this body of work, I explore the idea that the patterns through which we understand the world are not fixed. By breaking apart and rearranging circles, colors, and forms, I invite viewers to question established ways of seeing and consider new possibilities.

What if the patterns we inherit no longer serve us? What if we could create new ones — ways of seeing ourselves and the world that are more open, connected, and restorative?

Selected EXHIBITIONS

I enjoy bringing bodies of work together in museums, galleries, and other spaces. Seen as a group, individual pieces enter into conversation with one another, revealing new relationships among color, pattern, form, and space. Each installation offers viewers a different way to experience the work as a whole.

Selected Public Art

I approach each public art commission as an opportunity to create work that belongs naturally within its setting. I consider the architecture, the purpose of the space, and the surrounding environment, seeking a relationship between the artwork and the place it inhabits.

My process begins with a visit to the site, where I explore the space and look for architectural, cultural, and environmental elements that can inform the design.

I have created public and private commissions in a range of forms, including sculpture, large-scale reliefs, and paintings. Whenever possible, I use environmentally responsible materials and have created artwork for LEED-certified buildings.
